Summer is winding down but you can still enjoy steak on the grill Tuesday, September 14 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. A donation of $8 is requested and the public is welcome.
Students, Grades 9 through 12, if you are planning on going to college you will probably be interested in knowing
that VFW has a scholarship fund available to you. You may participate in the Voice of Democracy Essay
Contest by writing an essay and submitting it locally to Post #2326 for judging. The winning essay will be forwarded
to District 8. The District winner will be sent to the Department of Michigan and that winner will get to
go to Washington, D.C. and compete for a top prize of $35,000. The theme for the contest is "Does My Generation
Have a Role In America's Future?" Deadline to have your essay turned in to Post #2326 is November 1, 2010. John Kemme is the Post Chairman.
Forms are available in the counseling office.
There is also a Patriot's Pen contest for Middle School students Grade 6, 7 & 8. The theme for this contest is "Does Patriotism Still Matter?" The deadline is also November 1st, 2010.
The Ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary will be our quests for dinner on Thursday, September 23rd at 5:30
p.m.
Regular Auxiliary meeting is 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September, 15. The District President will here to inspect our Auxiliary so chairmen please have your record books here by 6:30 p.m.
"Omelet In A Bag" breakfast will be served on Saturday, September 25th from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who worked through our Coast Guard week. You kept this place alive.
